The transition does not stop with the new CEO; there has been revelation that ValueAct Holdings LP President Mason Morfit who is joining the board is planning a new list strategy that will affect how MSFT sells its Flagship products. According to bloomberg\u2019s Morfit wants Microsoft to reduce focus on how it normally sales applications and server software that are normally designed to only work with Windows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Morfit Proposed MSFT changes<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Morfit wants Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) to unchain its wide range of products and services so that they can be readily available on smartphones and tablets. This might be a blessing in disguise as it will essentially mean that programs such Microsoft office that normally run only on windows platform could be installed in Appledevices and Samsung Electronicdevices. This move will essentially increase Microsoft platform thereby increasing its market share and coverage. Microsoft has in the recent past been struggling to counter the rise in mobile devices as its products were mainly developed for personal computing arena.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ValueAct president Morfit wants Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) to also pay a closer attention on cloud business that has proved to be a success for some companies. Morfits would also wish to see MSFT scale back its hardware and consumer products which normally incur expensive marketing and manufacturing costs. It seems Morfit intends to achieve all this plans through behind the scenes persuasion and the use of relevant supporting data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>\u00a0Microsoft impending challenges<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The greatest challenge in the face of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) at the moment is the appointment of its new CEO who will essentially replace the long serving Steve Balmer. The appointment seems to have been sealed with the VP of its cloud and enterprise department Satya Nadella mooted as the likely replacement. Microsoft is also thought to be preparing to announce John Thompson as the company Chairman replacing its Core founder Bill Gates. Another matter at hand that the company is grappling with is the integration of $7.2 billion Nokia Acquisition that it intends to use for the refurbishment of its hardware and cloud industry. It would be prudent for Nadella and Morfit to work together if Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is to do well amidst the increasing competition from fierce rivals in the
