It isn&#8217;t quite a slump yet, and we&#8217;ve had a really good stretch over the last month or so. Still, I never like losing, especially when I&#8217;m on the right side of two games, but took the run line instead of the moneyline.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to hope we can dodge that same fate today in a game between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/sports\/mlb\/new-york-yankees\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New York Yankees<\/a> and the Baltimore Orioles.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees are still staying afloat. They are currently 15 games above .500, but they are looking up at the Tampa Bay Rays in their own division. If you&#8217;re a Yankee fan, you have to wonder where the team would be if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/aaron-judge\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Judge<\/a> never got hurt.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is that it seems Judge gets injured every season. As great as he is, if he isn&#8217;t on the field, he obviously cannot make an impact. They have a lot more injuries than just Judge at the moment. Cody Bellinger is injured, Giancarlo Stanton is out, and Max Fried went on the injured list when Carlos Rodon got off of it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/foxnews.com\/sports\/aaron-judge-officially-indefinitely-stress-fracture-huge-blow-yankees-title-hopes\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>AARON JUDGE OFFICIALLY OUT INDEFINITELY WITH STRESS FRACTURE IN HUGE BLOW TO YANKEES&#8217; TITLE HOPES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>No one will feel bad for the team \u2014 everyone has to deal with injuries. Today, the Yankees send out Will Warren to the hill. He has an 8-6 record with a 4.42 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. He isn&#8217;t someone that you&#8217;d really want to rely on to win you a postseason game, but being a fourth or fifth starter is a good role for him. He has been about the same on the road as he has been at home this season.<\/p>\n<p>Warren has been solid against Baltimore this season. He has made two starts against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/sports\/mlb\/baltimore-orioles\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Orioles,<\/a> and he has only allowed three earned runs over 12 innings.<\/p>\n<p>The Orioles are creeping toward .500 baseball for the season, but it is likely too little, too late. The team came in with big expectations considering that they signed Pete Alonso in the offseason. He has been the lone bright spot for the team, leading them in all three major categories. It wasn&#8217;t just a bad start for the club; it was a bad first half of games. In their first 81 games, the team went 38-43. Not too much different than where they are overall at the moment, but they were nine games under .500 on July 8th. Since then, they&#8217;ve gone 19-15. There is still an outside chance they can get hot enough to make the postseason.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/link.podtrac.com\/fearless_article\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>STAY &#8220;FEARLESS&#8221; ON THE GO! For the season, Bassitt is 4-4 with a 5.11 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. He has been substantially better in Baltimore than he has been on the road, throwing to a 3.09 ERA at home compared to 7.28 on the road.<\/p>\n<p>He has made only 13 appearances and 11 starts this season. None of those outings have come against the Yankees. He made his return to action just five days ago against the Rays, going 5.1 innings and allowing two earned runs. Yankees hitters have been successful against him, batting .272 overall.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like this is a good opportunity to take the Yankees. Warren has been very good against Baltimore this season, and Bassitt has a rough history against the Bronx Bombers. Bassitt has been better in Baltimore, but I don&#8217;t feel like this is a great spot to trust him. He is in just his second game back from injury, and I think we need to fade him a bit here.
