The regular season hasn\u2019t started yet, but Jayden Daniels is already being blitzed.<\/p>\n

The New York Mets<\/a> joined the masses on the internet who have made fun of the Washington Commanders star quarterback for sending a cease-and-desist letter earlier this month to his alma mater, LSU, over the use of his name, image and likeness.<\/p>\n

After the Mets\u2019 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals<\/a>, who, like the Commanders, are in the DMV area, the Mets took a shot at Daniels on X.<\/p>\n

“Stopped at 4 out of respect for Jayden Daniels<\/a>,” the Mets wrote in the viral post.<\/p>\n

Daniels, who won the Heisman Trophy with LSU in 2023, and his camp reportedly felt that head coach Lane Kiffin allowing DJ Pickett to wear his No. 5 jersey was “disrespectful.” The former LSU star quarterback<\/a> posted a statement on social media Thursday afternoon about the situation.<\/p>\n

“I have been locked in on training camp and that’s been my number one focus. I have a lot of gratitude for my time at LSU and I’m proud of what my teammates and I accomplished there,” Daniels posted. “Obviously there are issues to be worked out between my team and LSU and my hope is that it will get done privately.”<\/p>\n

JAYDEN DANIELS TELLS LSU TO KEEP HIS NAME OUT OF ITS MOUTH IN WILD NO. 5 JERSEY FEUD INVOLVING NIL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

“My sole personal focus is on Commanders’ football. I realize the business of football is unique and I trust this can all be resolved.”<\/p>\n

While Daniels tried to quell the situation, social media has only come after him as hard as any pass rush he will face this season.<\/p>\n

StubHub, a ticketing website, said in a post on X that it will no longer offer tickets in groups of five out of respect for Daniels.<\/p>\n

The former LSU star can only hope that by the time the regular season begins, the only blitz he is facing is on the field and not online.<\/p>\n
