A wealthy suburban sanctuary on the outskirts of Boston<\/a>, Mass., is on the lookout for a masked prowler who was captured on camera outside a home.<\/p>\n

The Weston Police Department said that surveillance cameras at a private property caught a masked individual wearing a bicycle helmet walking around the property around 2:30 to 3:30 a.m. early Sunday, Aug. 2, and now police are asking for the public\u2019s help in their investigation of the “suspicious incident.”<\/p>\n

Police said there is no indication the suspect entered the home, but the individual was completely masked and on private property during overnight hours.<\/p>\n

“Based on the circumstances, we believe the person\u2019s intentions were likely not lawful,” police said.<\/p>\n

Known for its ultra-premium real estate market and close proximity to Boston, Weston, Massachusetts<\/a>, stands as one of the most exclusive and expensive towns in the state. Police say the figure appeared to come from a nearby trail and approached the Highland Street house with a flashlight.<\/p>\n

In one of the images shared by the department, the person appears to be shining a flashlight at the home\u2019s three-car garage.<\/p>\n

In another instance, investigators say it looks like the suspicious man is carrying a hunting chair he picked up from the house to the woods. Another image showed him wearing a bicycle helmet.<\/p>\n

Weston Police Chief Denis Linehan called the scene deeply concerning, telling\u00a0CBS Boston<\/a>, “It\u2019s creepy, there is no doubt about it.”<\/p>\n

“Anytime you have someone on somebody else’s property masked, I don’t care what time of day it is, that is concerning and then you add the factor that it is three in the morning and he was on that property for an extended period of time, we’re overly concerned.”<\/p>\n

The suspicious behavior is causing authorities to ask nearby residents to check their home surveillance or doorbell camera footage from those early morning hours.<\/p>\n
