The death of a woman found at a home owned by the husband of Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., has been ruled a homicide<\/a>, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Boston<\/a> Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood on July 18 at about 1:52 p.m. and found Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio, 18, with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.<\/p>\n

Her death was ruled a homicide<\/a> on Thursday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, authorities said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Property records show the home where she was found dead is owned by Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband. There’s no indication that the house’s ownership is connected to Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio’s death.<\/p>\n

The woman’s mother, Elenie Ocasio, told Boston 25<\/a> she knows who’s likely responsible for her daughters death.<\/p>\n

“This coward killed my baby. He put a gun to her head, took my baby in that house and left her to die,” Elenie Ocasio said. “My daughter didn\u2019t deserve this. My daughter did not deserve this, and it\u2019s all going to come out to light. Everything\u2019s gonna come out.”<\/p>\n

“I am devastated about the death of Yoseliani Marte, an 18-year-old with so many dreams ahead of her, her life cut short by domestic violence. As the parent of a teenager, the thought of a young person violently losing their life in this way is beyond crushing. I stand with our community and everyone who loved Yoseliani as we grieve this deep loss. May we all honor her life and humanity and extend compassion to her loved ones as they navigate this heartbreaking tragedy,” Pressley said.<\/p>\n

Her office said neither the congresswoman or her family were involved in the incident.<\/p>\n
