Its profits rose considerably in the first quarter fueled by the lowering of industry high tax rates. The company expects the effort on low tax rate to continue as it forges forward with its repurchase plan of billions of Stocks. Pfizer has even gone forth to project tax rate of 27% for this current fiscal year which may not drop further. The company intends to use this opening as a path for bringing back more cash from oversea although it continues to face more backlash from the government in terms of high tax rates.<\/p>\n
Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) plans to divest its internal operations to three units although full split is not expected to happen until 2017 according to reliable sources from the company. The company Q4 earnings beat analysts\u2019 expectations recording earnings of 56 cents a share 4 cents more than what the analysts had projected. Pfizer fourth quarter earnings dropped 59 cents to clock at the $2.57 billion mark or 39 cents a share this was a slight drop considering the company had posted revenues totaling $6.32 billion or 85 cents a share the same quarter a year ago. The drop in revenue was necessitated by the divestiture of its two units<\/p>\n

The company cut its operation costs by 3% to $291 million an effort aimed at improving productivity and efficiency.
