A Michigan<\/a> mother of six had just returned from the trip of a lifetime when her recently unemployed husband killed the entire family and then himself, authorities say, and newly released 911 dispatch audio captures the inferno he left behind.<\/p>\n

Six children and two adults were found dead inside a Grand Haven Township home Friday after crews responded to a house fire<\/a>, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said. All eight had gunshot wounds, turning the case into a suspicious death investigation.<\/p>\n

Officials on Monday identified the adults as Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, and Amanda Karolkiewicz, 39. Authorities did not name the children but said they were four boys ages 15, 12, 11 and 5 and two girls, both 11. Two of the children were adopted.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office identified the father and husband, Kristopher Karolkiewicz, as the suspect in the murder-suicide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amanda Karolkiewicz, who went by Mandy, returned to Michigan<\/a> from her trip of a lifetime to China with her two adopted girls just days before the murder-suicide.<\/p>\n

In one image, Mandy and two of the girls pose in traditional Chinese hanfu, their hair styled and faces made up, each holding a decorative fan against a painted floral backdrop.<\/p>\n

The mother called it one of the “funniest and coolest” experiences of her life.<\/p>\n

Her final TikTok post<\/a> was made on July 17, with Mandy writing, “We are so ready to be home sweet home!”<\/p>\n

Mandy’s TikTok told the story of a family that seemed to have it all. Disney in Shanghai. Cobblestone streets overseas. Lazy afternoons at the pool. A beach photo of her and her husband, arms wrapped around each other. And the kids, all six, turning up again and again in the everyday moments most parents live for.<\/p>\n

However, a Reddit account belonging to Mandy shows their marriage wasn’t as picture-perfect as it appeared.<\/p>\n

In a 2024 post, Mandy wrote that there was infidelity in the marriage.<\/p>\n

“He was divorced and older than me \u2026 fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again \u2014 the same age I was when I was the intern,” she allegedly wrote.<\/p>\n

“After about a year of self-loathing I remember crying and looking at myself in the mirror and realizing how f—– up it was that\u00a0I\u00a0was the one who was living so miserably because of what\u00a0he\u00a0did,” she allegedly wrote.<\/p>\n

Mandy made frequent posts in the “AsOneAfterInfidelity” Reddit, writing she couldn’t stomach the idea of leaving him.<\/p>\n

“We have six kids, so the idea of leaving is insanely terrifying,” Mandy allegedly wrote. “He\u2019s always had major red flags that I ignored due to my own trauma and anxious attachment.”<\/p>\n

The couple had been married 17 years when they were found dead, along with their children, in their Grand Haven home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kristopher Karolkiewicz worked at the American Heart Association until July 2026, when his employment ended, according to a spokesperson for the organization.<\/p>\n

“The American Heart Association is aware that one of its former staff members was among those who perished under tragic circumstances last week in a western Michigan home. Kristopher Karolkiewicz was an employee of the American Heart\u00a0Association from September of 2023 until earlier this month, July 2026, when his employment ended,” the spokesman said. “During his time with our organization, he served as a national vice president of sales and marketing, supporting the division of the\u00a0Heart Association responsible for CPR and first aid training and products.”<\/p>\n

“As an organization with professional staff who are dedicated to helping others, we are devastated by the news out of Michigan, and our thoughts are with the loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragedy,” he continued.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Karolkiewicz\u00a0started the fire<\/a>\u00a0in numerous places throughout the house after carrying out the murders.<\/p>\n

“The cause and origin of the residential fire remains under investigation by Michigan<\/a> State Police arson investigators. However, preliminary indications are that the fire was intentionally set in numerous places throughout the interior of the residence. The family pets also perished due to the fire\/smoke,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.<\/p>\n

The Grand Haven Fire Department initially responded to reports of people being able to smell smoke in that area between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Friday, but firefighters couldn’t locate a fire.<\/p>\n

Dispatch audio obtained by Fox News Digital indicated that the house was “full of smoke” that could be seen coming out the windows.<\/p>\n

Just before 11:45 a.m., officials returned to the 14900 block of Riverside Trail after receiving reports of white smoke coming from a home there.<\/p>\n

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said there are no additional suspects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
