A Good Samaritan wearing a Spider-Man costume was captured on video leaping out of his vehicle to help a man in a wheelchair cross a busy intersection in Arkansas<\/a> in a moment that has gone viral.<\/p>\n

The heartwarming scene was filmed by traffic cameras on Tuesday after Christopher Hellenthal, 20, said he clocked out of work at a trampoline park in Jonesboro.<\/p>\n

“That morning we had a superhero day and so I brought it for the toddlers and they had a blast,” Hellenthal said about the Spider-Man costume. “And whenever I got off work and clocked out, I was actually just going to head into town and just kind of drive around with the suit. And I noticed that there was this man, and he was in a wheelchair, and he was having a lot of trouble, he wasn\u2019t going to make it.”<\/p>\n

“But I just got out real fast, and I just helped him along,<\/a> adrenaline pumping through me. I just told the man, I said, \u2018don\u2019t worry I got you,\u2019 and I guess he understood, and I got him to a safe spot, and I made it back to my vehicle and just drove off,” he added.<\/p>\n

“I would have done it with or without the suit,” Hellenthal also said.<\/p>\n

The moment was shared on the Facebook page of the Jonesboro Police Department,<\/a> which called Hellenthal a “true superhero.”<\/p>\n

“We were able to spot this little web of kindness on our intersection cameras. Thank you, sir, for helping this gentleman reach his destination safely,” police said.<\/p>\n

Sally Smith, a police department spokesperson, told The Associated Press that “Not in my 7 years in the department have I witnessed this.”<\/p>\n

Hellenthal, who lives in Lake City, east of Jonesboro, said he’s always been a Spider-Man fan. He told the AP that he even had the opportunity to meet the late Stan Lee, one of the character\u2019s co-creators.<\/p>\n

Packy Magel, a manager at Ultimate Air Trampoline Park who works with Hellenthal, said he recognized Hellenthal from the video despite his superhero getup.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s “very much like him to do something like that and very much like him to be still in costume,” Magel said to the AP.<\/p>\n
