A Rhode Island<\/a> lawmaker who previously referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers as “Nazi Gestapo thugs” said “your day of reckoning will come mother——” in a charged social media post aimed at the agency tasked with carrying out the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.<\/p>\n

State Rep. Enrique Sanchez, a Democrat, directed his anger at ICE in a Wednesday post on X decrying its enforcement tactics:<\/p>\n

“Fighting and dealing with ICE since last year has f—– me up in the head after trying to protect and defend hundreds and hundreds of our community members in Providence and across Rhode Island<\/a>. Your day of reckoning will come mother——,” he wrote. “I swear to god.”<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital has reached out for comment to Sanchez, ICE, and the Department of Homeland Security<\/a>, along with the Rhode Island Republican and Democratic parties.<\/p>\n

Sanchez, who was elected to the state House of Representatives in 2022, works as a case manager helping illegal immigrants<\/a>, according to his biography on the state House website.<\/p>\n

The Democratic lawmaker has issued harsh criticism of ICE before. In August 2025, he called ICE officers “Nazi Gestapo thugs” who he said “kidnapped another of our neighbors” in Providence.<\/p>\n

“The ICE thugs damaged a couple cars that belonged to residents as well. They think they are above the law,” he wrote on X at the time.<\/p>\n

Two weeks later, he said ICE was “terrorizing” communities before calling for “a day of reckoning and no going back.”<\/p>\n

More recently, Sanchez lambasted the “Nazi ICE trash thugs” after an ICE agent killed a Colombian man<\/a> in Maine.<\/p>\n

Joan Sebastian Guerrero, 26, was shot and killed July 13 during an attempted traffic stop after he allegedly tried to flee, authorities said.<\/p>\n

An eyewitness told Maine’s Portland<\/a> Press Herald that Guerrero appeared to drive toward federal agents before shots were fired.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
