Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., said she is “centering the victim” after an 18-year-old woman was found shot dead Saturday inside a Boston home<\/a> owned by the congresswoman\u2019s husband.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s family identified her as 18-year-old Yoseliani Marte and said she died as a result of domestic violence. Boston police have not publicly identified her, confirmed that characterization or announced an arrest.<\/p>\n

“As someone who has done the work advocating, you know, for accountability and healing for survivors of all crimes \u2014 yeah, my heart is heavy,” Pressley said.<\/p>\n

She continued, “I’m just really centering the victim right now. And that’s what we all should be doing.”<\/p>\n

FAMILY IDENTIFIES YOUNG WOMAN FOUND FATALLY SHOT IN HOME OWNED BY REP AYANNA PRESSLEY’S HUSBAND<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The victim was found dead from a gunshot wound inside the home owned by Pressley\u2019s husband Conan Harris, who she has been married to since 2014.<\/p>\n

In a GoFundMe post, the family identified the victim and claimed that she died as a result of domestic violence<\/a>. The mother also claimed that she allegedly knows who may be responsible, according to Boston 25 News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“As the mother to an 18-year-old daughter, right now, excitedly planning to take her to college for her freshman year,” Pressley explained.<\/p>\n

“I’m devastated for the impacted family.”<\/p>\n

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim, nor announced any arrests in relation to the death at the residence in Boston<\/a>\u2019s Mattapan neighborhood. Police reports obtained by Fox News Digital say the victim suffered from a single gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

“This young girl, who we didn’t know, 18 years old,” Pressley said. “I\u2019m sure had her own plans and dreams that have all been cut short.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Pressley’s office told Boston 25 News that neither the congresswoman nor her family were involved in the incident and that Pressley extends her deepest condolences to the family and loved ones impacted by the tragedy.<\/p>\n

The home is a two-family residence that is rental property where neither Pressley nor Harris live. It is listed for sale at $1.15 million.<\/p>\n

It is still not clear at this time whether Marte lived at the home where she was found dead<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The mother also told Boston 25 News that she is focused on getting justice for her daughter and that “everything\u2019s gonna come out,” and “it\u2019s all going to come to light.”<\/p>\n

The manner of death remains under investigation<\/a>, Boston police said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
