Athletics<\/a> infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer got a taste of a serious career high on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks when he hit his first career home run.<\/p>\n

However, he came crashing back to earth innings later when he fouled a ball straight into his own testicles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The universe certainly likes to bring you crashing back to earth, doesn’t it?<\/p>\n

On Monday, after homering in the second inning and striking out in the third, Kuroda-Grauer was back at the dish and fouled a pitch straight into his own crotch.<\/p>\n

It appears he might come from the Jazz Chisholm school<\/a> of not wearing a cup.<\/p>\n

Though, even if he was wearing one, that would still hurt like hell.<\/p>\n

But what’s wild is that, as you saw in that clip, Kuroda-Grauer got back on the proverbial horse and knocked a base hit into centerfield in that same at-bat.<\/p>\n

That was a gutsy performance \u2014 especially in game 100 out of 162 for a team 14 games below .500 \u2014 but that shot to the groin-al region did some serious damage.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the Athletics announced a couple of injuries, one of which was Kuroda-Grauer, who sustained a ruptured testicle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jeez. Get well soon, man.<\/p>\n

Those are two words I hate seeing next to each other. So does every guy on the face of the earth.<\/p>\n

This just lends more credence to my argument that it probably isn’t a bad idea for all of us to wear cups all the time.<\/p>\n

No one would regret wearing one until they weren’t wearing one and fouled a pitch into their nards or walked into the corner of their dresser while trying to navigate the bedroom in the dark.<\/p>\n

If Joshua Kuroda-Grauer wasn’t wearing one on Monday night, I think there’s a decent chance he throws one on when he returns to action in about two weeks.<\/p>\n

Or, at least considers it, then doesn’t.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
