Ryan Clark<\/a> has spoken publicly for the first time since the news broke that he was being let go from ESPN.<\/p>\n

Clark, 46, wished others who were laid off by ESPN<\/a> on Tuesday well, empathizing with those who lost their jobs.<\/p>\n

“Sending prayers and love to all those laid off today by ESPN. So many of you have poured your life into that company, & I know how\u2019re you feeling right now,” Clark wrote on X.<\/a><\/p>\n

“My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!”<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, The Athletic<\/a> reported that Karl Ravech, who had been with the company since 1993, and NFL insider Tom Pelissero were being laid off.<\/p>\n

Ravech had been ESPN\u2019s lead play-by-play announcer for its baseball coverage, and called the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>-New York Mets game on Monday. ESPN purchased NFL Network in January, and just six months later, ESPN let go of Pelissero, who was a constant on NFL Network programming.<\/p>\n

Longtime SportsCenter anchor David Lloyd, injury expert Stephania Bell, talk show host Bart Scott and NFL Network analyst Charles Davis were also laid off as well, according to Front Office Sports.<\/a> Lloyd had been with ESPN since 1997, and Bell had been with the company for nearly two decades.<\/p>\n

OutKick reported that ESPN has laid off Cam Newton<\/a>. ESPN featured the 2015 MVP winner on “First Take” alongside Stephen A. Smith for two seasons.<\/p>\n

As for Clark, it is unclear if his contract expired or if he is being sidelined until his deal is up. He joined ESPN in 2015 and spent more than 11 seasons with the network. As his time at ESPN progressed, he became an increasingly polarizing figure.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s talent lineup will look much different this upcoming NFL<\/a> season, which will conclude with the network broadcasting its first Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
