Late-night host Jimmy Fallon swiped at former President Joe Biden<\/a> on Wednesday during “The Tonight Show” after the ex-president announced he would be releasing a memoir in November.<\/p>\n

Biden’s memoir,<\/a> “Promise Me, America,” will chronicle his presidency and reveal the “deeply agonizing calculation” behind his decision to withdraw from the 2024<\/a> presidential race, according to a press release announcing the book. The memoir is set to come out on Nov. 17, about two weeks after the midterms.<\/p>\n

Fallon showed a picture of the cover of the book and said, “The book was written by a ghost writer, Joe Biden.”<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s the second book Biden has written,” the late-night comedian said. “The first was \u2018The Odyssey.\u2019”<\/p>\n

He quipped that the book was about what the former president remembered from his presidency and said, “So it’s three pages.”<\/p>\n

Fallon then brought former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> into his bit and added, “It\u2019s kind of a strange book because toward the end it starts being written by Kamala Harris.”<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to representatives of the former president for comment about the jokes but didn’t immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

Biden announced the book in a video posted to X Wednesday. He added that he has been receiving treatment for his cancer diagnosis<\/a> and that it has been going “really well.”<\/p>\n

“It’s about the challenges we face as a nation and about the decisions I made and why I made them, leading the country through COVID, rebuilding our economy and restoring our democracy after the attack on January 6th, ending our nation’s longest war in Afghanistan, strengthening NATO and supporting Ukraine,” Biden said.<\/p>\n

Lindy Li, a former top<\/a> Democratic fundraiser, said Biden was only doing himself a disservice by promising the public another explanation of why he decided to run for re-election in 2024 despite mounting concerns about his age and cognitive performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In her view, Biden\u2019s upcoming memoir will only serve to reopen painful wounds that Democrats have struggled to move past since the 2024 election loss. In a way, she believes the book is a bit of a microcosm of Biden\u2019s presidency.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019re thinking, \u2018Why can\u2019t you just shut the f— up<\/a>?\u2019 Prior to me leaving the party, they wanted nothing to do with this guy. It was so bad that when, finally, Biden exited on July 21, there was no goodbye party other than a staffer one in the Rose Garden. There was nothing,” Li said.<\/p>\n
