Some of the most beneficial habits are actually completely free, according to CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., Oz shared three &#8220;super simple&#8221; health tips that Americans can apply now without spending a dime.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The best health advice I can give is super simple,&#8221; he said. &#8220;There&#8217;s nothing healthier than having a good time with the people that you care about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/dr-oz-links-obesity-chronic-disease-surge-glp-1s-jumpstart-better-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>DR OZ LINKS OBESITY TO CHRONIC DISEASE SURGE, SAYS GLP-1S CAN &#8216;JUMPSTART&#8217; BETTER HEALTH<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spending time with <a href=\"https:\/\/foxnews.com\/health\/loneliness-may-silently-eroding-memory-new-research-reveals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">loved ones<\/a> can bring tangible health benefits, especially when paired with activities like eating a meal together or doing something active, according to the doctor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do the things that bring you an inner sense of calm so you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/sleep-disorders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sleep at night<\/a>,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That all comes along with being social.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/newsletters?cmpid=fnfirstnl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to Oz, 50% of the human brain is designed to read the face of the person next to you.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wouldn&#8217;t waste that brain power if it wasn\u2019t important,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We&#8217;re supposed to be social. We&#8217;re supposed to interact with others, so spend time doing that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some traditionally &#8220;healthy&#8221; habits like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/nutrition-and-fitness\/diet-trends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dieting<\/a> may help to promote certain health benefits, but Oz cautioned that dieting can also &#8220;make you feel lonely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We celebrate around food,&#8221; he said, adding that people can stay socially connected while also maintaining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/healthy-living\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">healthy habits<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Adequate sleep is one of the most powerful ways to improve your health \u2014 and it doesn&#8217;t cost a thing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/lifestyle\/quizzes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Reducing the stress in your life so you can sleep is probably the single best way, especially as you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/geriatric-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">get older<\/a>, [to stay] youthful,&#8221; Oz advised.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You can try to spend money on medication, but I\u2019m not aware of any that work as well as the natural sleep hygiene tools,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>These tools include making the room you\u2019re sleeping in as dark as possible, keeping the temperature cool and avoiding screens before bed.
