Airport officials took to social media on Monday to announce that a passenger, identified by game manufacturer IGT as “Anthony,” hit a jaw-dropping $3.3 million jackpot while playing a “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine.<\/p>\n

“Congratulations to a lucky traveler who hit a $3.3 million jackpot on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine over the weekend in C Gates at LAS Airport,” the post read.<\/p>\n

The massive win occurred in the airport’s C Gates after the traveler placed a $10 bet, marking an unforgettable trip<\/a> to the Entertainment Capital of the World.<\/p>\n

While airport slot machines are known for having tighter payouts than the mega-resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, LAS has a history of minting unexpected millionaires.<\/p>\n

The airport is one of only two commercial aviation hubs in the United States to feature terminal gambling (the other is Reno-Tahoe International Airport).<\/p>\n

Before that, the airport celebrated a $1.4 million jackpot won by a visitor from San Diego and a $1.3 million win in 2023.<\/p>\n

While “Anthony” will have to account for a 24% federal tax withholding on his $3.3 million prize, Nevada does not tax<\/a> personal income or gambling winnings.<\/p>\n
