“Criminal Minds<\/a>” star Paget Brewster has issued an apology after publicly criticizing an entertainment reporter and telling the journalist to find a new career.<\/p>\n

Brewster, best known for appearing on the CBS show “Criminal Minds” and now its Paramount+ reboot “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” took to X on Saturday to rail against an article written by ScreenRant.<\/p>\n

Directly addressing writer Shealyn Scott, she wrote in the now-deleted post, “You\u2019re young. You don\u2019t know that bad pics and bad reviews can lead to 350 people losing their jobs. Sell vintage. Work at a shelter. Do something better than what you do now. Because right now you suck,” according to Variety.<\/p>\n

Following criticism from entertainment critics<\/a> and social media users, Brewster issued a public apology on Sunday.<\/p>\n

“Hi guys, I was mean to Shealyn Scott last night and I profoundly regret it,” Brewster wrote on X.<\/a> “Shame on me for insulting a human being for doing their job. I\u2019m very sorry, Shealyn. And I\u2019m sorry to those who follow me that you saw me behave like that. Turns out, last night, I sucked.”<\/p>\n

Her X bio also includes a call for humans to be kind, reading, “I also love that we humans are all different but the same, too. Choose kindness.”<\/p>\n

Scott posted to X that Brewster had since reached out to apologize, and noted she will continue covering the show, writing: “To be clear, Paget also reached out privately to apologize to me! Criminal Minds is still one of my all-time favorite shows, and I\u2019m very excited to continue covering s19 (and hopefully beyond!)”<\/p>\n

The original ScreenRant article featured a photo of Brewster and criticized the reboot’s shortened episode count, ratings change to TV-MA<\/a>, and other alterations to the series.<\/p>\n

Scott opened her article by writing, “Criminal Minds: Evolution sometimes feels unrecognizable from the original series, but the biggest format change is finally catching up with Paramount+.”<\/p>\n

The original run of “Criminal Minds” played on CBS and ran from 2005 to 2020.<\/a> Its successor was revived solely on streaming in 2022, and together the franchise is now in its 19th season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
