A man was released from custody on Friday after he was charged with attempted murder <\/a>for allegedly forcing a 3-year-old boy into a crocodile enclosure at a zoo.<\/p>\n

Cambridgeshire police said that the man, who remains unidentified, wasn\u2019t fit to be interviewed.<\/p>\n

The boy suffered critical injuries in the incident at Johnsons of Old Hurst, a farm and zoo in Huntingdon, England<\/a>, north of London.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old man will remain on bail until Sept. 30, pending further inquiries.<\/p>\n

“The man, who is not known to the victim, was \u200bassessed as \u200bnot being \u2060fit for interview,” police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The boy is in stable condition, after reportedly suffering a broken arm and pelvis.<\/p>\n

He was saved from the crocodile by Tracey Johnson, the wife of the zoo\u2019s owner.<\/p>\n

\u00a0“I know Tracey very well and she\u2019s a lovely lady and it\u2019s nothing more than I\u2019d expect from her,” a local told BBC News. “She\u2019d always put her own life at<\/a> risk to save someone else. She\u2019s an extraordinary lady and very brave.<\/p>\n

The villager added that Johnson put herself in “immense danger” during the rescue.<\/p>\n

The owners said their tropical house would remain closed until further notice.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the boy and his family following the incident that occurred today,” the owners wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

Huntingdonshire district councillor Charlotte Lowe said she couldn\u2019t “fathom how it\u2019s happened because they\u2019ve got all the right protection and safety equipment<\/a>, for want of a better word, in there,” The Guardian reported.<\/p>\n
