Former first lady Michelle Obama<\/a> drew criticism from conservatives after telling ABC’s “Good Morning America” that the next chapter of her life could be summed up in one word during a joint interview with former President Barack Obama at the Obama Presidential Center<\/a> in Chicago.<\/p>\n

Co-anchor Robin Roberts asked the former first couple to describe their next chapter in one word during a lighthearted segment about their lives after the White House<\/a>. Barack Obama answered first.<\/p>\n

“Fun,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Me,” Michelle Obama said.<\/p>\n

Roberts reacted favorably to the former first lady’s answer.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s what you call drop the mic,” Roberts said.<\/p>\n

Barack Obama joked that Roberts appeared to be judging his wife’s answers more generously after her response.<\/p>\n

The clip prompted a series of reactions from conservative accounts on X, with some accusing the former first lady of being self-centered.<\/p>\n

Commentator and TV personality Danny De Urbina criticized Michelle Obama’s answer in a post accusing her of being self-focused.<\/p>\n

“So, in case you didn\u2019t know this… Michelle Obama thinks about herself a lot,” De Urbina said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“So much of a person\u2019s intelligence can be measured by the degree they are able to think about the world around them instead of themselves,” De Urbina said. “This is the precise narcissism that has plagued our culturally suicidal ruling class for decades.”<\/p>\n

The ABC interview centered on the Obama Presidential Center, a 19.3-acre campus on Chicago’s South Side<\/a> that includes a museum, public spaces and a replica of the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

“As a consequence, a little girl born on the South Side of Chicago and some mixed kid, you know, born in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii, you know, could end up being part of the process of building and making better the greatest country on Earth,” Barack Obama said.<\/p>\n

The Obama Foundation said the center’s grand opening ceremony<\/a> was scheduled for June 18, with the campus and museum opening to the public June 19. Opening weekend events continue through June 21.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
