Vice President JD Vance<\/a> was taken aback by how he was treated by the ladies of “The View.”<\/p>\n

“I expected them to be absolutely vicious, and they were only a little bit vicious. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be,” Vance said on “Gutfeld!<\/a>” Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“Joy Behar<\/a> even said during the break, not joking, she said, ‘You know what? You’re like pretty good for a Republican.’ And I was like, ‘Whoa.’ That is a way better compliment than I expected from Joy Behar,” he continued.<\/p>\n

VANCE SPARS WITH LIBERAL CO-HOSTS OVER IMMIGRATION ON ‘THE VIEW’<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Vance stopped by “The View” Tuesday as he kicked off the book tour this week for his spiritual memoir, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.”<\/p>\n

It wasn’t, however, all sunshine and rainbows for Vance in his debut appearance on the ABC daytime talk show.<\/p>\n

“I thought that Sunny, the woman to my left, was going to call me a racist. In reality, it was Whoopi, the woman on my right, who called me a racist. So expectations were defied,” Vance joked.<\/p>\n

Vance was likely referencing an exchange he had with co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who grilled him<\/a> over allegations that the Trump administration watered down or removed exhibits of Black history at various museums, an assertion Vance combatted.<\/p>\n

He and “The View” co-hosts clashed on several topics, like President Donald Trump’s recent comments about inflation as well as immigration.<\/p>\n

VANCE SHARES HOW HE’S GEARING UP FOR LION’S DEN DEBUT ON ‘THE VIEW’<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking with Fox News Digital<\/a> ahead of the appearance on “View,” Vance was hopeful that he’d have a productive conversation with the liberal ladies.<\/p>\n

“It may be the optimist in me, but I just fundamentally think that most people \u2014 not everybody, but most people \u2014 even if I disagree with them, you ought to try to have a conversation with them,” Vance told Fox News Digital in a sit-down interview Monday.<\/p>\n

“We’re going to go and try to have a good conversation. I hope they meet me halfway. I’m a little skeptical, but we’ll see,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
