Kevin Knight aligned himself with the Don Callis Family<\/a> in recent weeks as he looked to capitalize on getting an opportunity at the AEW World Championship.<\/p>\n

Knight started All Elite Wrestling<\/a> (AEW) “Dynamite” taking aim at Darby Allin and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. He said the fans were upset that Allin failed to keep the AEW title at Double or Nothing against Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and that Bailey was the one who broke up the Jet Speed tag team.<\/p>\n

Knight called out MJF but he got Allin instead. Allin hit Knight with a skateboard.<\/p>\n

“I hope New York was worth it. I hope New York was worth it, b—h” Allin said.<\/p>\n

Other members of the Don Callis Family came out to chase Allin out of the arena but the message was already sent. Instead of Knight sending it to the world champion, it was Allin sending one to “The Jet.”<\/p>\n

Allin hadn\u2019t been seen since he lost the title to MJF<\/a> in a hair vs. title match. Knight was the one who came out at the end of the match and levied a punishment onto Allin. Knight hit a UFO Splash on Allin as he was strapped to a gurney.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Andrade El Idolo is still waiting for Callis to make good on his promise for a title shot against MJF. Andrade addressed Callis later in the night and the slimy manager said the shot was coming in the future.<\/p>\n

For weeks, Mark Briscoe had challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship and the champion had brushed him off each time. MJF has claimed that Briscoe isn\u2019t main event material or championship material. But it all changed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Briscoe picked up another big win in his singles match against Pac. He hasn\u2019t been on the losing side of a match since “Dynamite” on March 11 when he and the Young Bucks lost a six-man tag team match to Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood and Tommaso Ciampa.<\/p>\n

But Briscoe came with a plan. He said he spoke to AEW CEO Tony Khan about a world championship opportunity and a match at Forbidden Door was made. Briscoe and five others will take on MJF and five others in a steel cage match.<\/p>\n

If Briscoe\u2019s team wins, he will be guaranteed an AEW World Championship shot<\/a>. MJF went right to the Don Callis Family for help. Knight said he would help MJF if he was given a chance at the AEW title.<\/p>\n

Will Ospreay fought and clawed his way to the Owen Hart Foundation Men\u2019s Tournament final with wins over Samoa Joe and Mark Davis. On the other side of the bracket, he waited for the winner between Swerve Strickland and Brody King.<\/p>\n

All Ospreay had to do was watch Strickland and King beat the brakes off each other as he got an extra week of rest. King survived two House Calls and Strickland was able to power through a nasty Death Valley driver into the corner and a piledriver. Strickland then hit King with a Vertebreaker to win the match. Prince Nana helped out by hitting King in the head with a weapon.<\/p>\n

Strickland and Ospreay will meet each other in the final at Forbidden Door on June 28.<\/p>\n

Maya World was put into the Owen Hart Foundation Women\u2019s Tournament at the very last second as Saree wasn\u2019t cleared to take part. Saree was set to square off against Skye Blue.<\/p>\n

World came into the match with a heavy heart as she revealed the death of her younger brother. She was wrestling in honor of her late brother and hoped to pull off a stunner.<\/p>\n

She had a terrific match against Hazuki back on May 30 and had two big wins in Ring of Honor \u2013 a singles match against Trish Adora and a tag team win with Hyan. She also competed in the Survival of the Fittest<\/a> for the Ring of Honor Women\u2019s World Championship, which Athena retained.<\/p>\n

While Blue had \u00a0much of the momentum in the match, World fought back. World blocked a running knee and hit Blue with a suplex. World connected with her own running knee strike but only picked up the two count. Both women were giving it their all to advance in the tournament with the hopes of earning an AEW Women\u2019s World Championship shot.<\/p>\n

World, somehow, countered Blue\u2019s attacks into a pinning combination and got the three. She will move on to the semifinals and face Athena.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
