President Donald Trump<\/a> declared Wednesday that Iran is “negotiating on fumes” and that the regime thought they could outwait him when it comes to reaching a deal to end the war.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump, speaking during a Cabinet meeting about three months after the launch of Operation Epic Fury, said Iran “very much” wants to reach an agreement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“So\u00a0far\u00a0they\u00a0haven’t\u00a0gotten\u00a0there.\u00a0We’re\u00a0not satisfied with it, but we will be,\u00a0we will be. Either that or\u00a0we’ll\u00a0have to just finish the job,” the president warned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But their navy has gone, as I’ve said a thousand\u00a0times,\u00a0their\u00a0navy is gone. Their air force is gone.\u00a0Everything’s\u00a0gone and\u00a0they’re\u00a0negotiating on fumes. But\u00a0we’ll\u00a0see what happens.\u00a0Maybe we have to go back and finish it.\u00a0Maybe we\u00a0don’t,” he continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The president also said Iran\u2019s economy “is in freefall” with surging inflation and money that “has no value.”\u00a0He mentioned, “They’re just going back to the internet because they’re getting clobbered,” referencing reports on Tuesday that Internet access in Iran was partially being restored following a lengthy blackout.<\/p>\n

“They thought they were going to\u00a0outwait\u00a0me,\u00a0you know,\u00a0\u2018We’ll\u00a0outwait him, he’s got the midterms.\u2019\u00a0I\u00a0don’t\u00a0care about\u00a0the midterms.\u00a0Look\u00a0what happened last night. That was the prelude to the midterms,” Trump added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.\u00a0I’m\u00a0doing that for the world.\u00a0I’m\u00a0not doing it just for us. And\u00a0we’ve\u00a0had great support from other\u00a0nations, by the way. We\u00a0don’t\u00a0need it at all. But\u00a0we’ve\u00a0had great support from other nations,” Trump also said. “The problem is you always get\u00a0the support\u00a0when you\u00a0don’t\u00a0need it. When you need it, you\u00a0don’t\u00a0get\u00a0the support. With Operation Epic Fury, our warriors are ensuring that the world’s number one state sponsor of terror never obtains a nuclear weapon. And they\u00a0won’t.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio<\/span> said, following Trump, that diplomacy remains the first option for resolving the war with Iran.<\/p>\n

“There’s\u00a0an agreement to be made. We want that to be made. I think\u00a0there’s\u00a0been some progress and some interest. And\u00a0we’ll\u00a0see over the next few hours and days whether progress could be made,” Rubio said during the Cabinet meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth<\/span> added, “Whether it is through the efforts of your negotiators that they ensure that they never have a nuclear weapon, or we\u00a0have to\u00a0go back to the War Department to finish the job that way,\u00a0we’re\u00a0prepared to do that.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
