Boston, MA 12\/18\/2013 (wallstreetpr) –\u00a0Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) secured the decision of court in its favour on Monday. This win was against the Motorola Mobility LLC\u00a0who had appealed to the court to invalidate the patent of Microsoft related to mobile calendar syncing. They have made this appeal because this patent is banning the sales of certain devices of Motorola in the United States.<\/p>\n
Patent<\/b><\/p>\n
The patent which had led to this filing of lawsuit is related to ActiveSync software of Microsoft and is specifically related to the way that computers are synced with the calendars. In its appeal, Motorola tried to say that this technology has already been used by Apple in its Newton Message Pad. Therefore, it is nothing new. And thus, the company appealed to lift the ban from the import of its devices into the United States.<\/p>\n
Decision<\/b><\/p>\n
The federal appeals court of US, which was preceded by 3 judges, affirms that the patent is violated by Motorola Mobility and the decision is almost similar to the previous rulings by the U.S. ITC (International Trade Commission) that concerns a single patent of Microsoft. ITC had reportedly banned the imports of Android based\u00a0devices of Motorola that are alleged to be violating the patent of Microsoft. But, the company sued\u00a0the U.S. government in July as it did not enforce ban on Motorola\u2019s devices.<\/p>\n
The spokesman of Motorola Mobility was disappointed by this decision, though he was pleased with the overall result. He said that the loss of Microsoft in 8 of its best patents\u00a0and its win in single patent decision will not jeopardize the ability of Motorola to build in future.<\/p>\n

Motorola Mobility, after the decision, will either shift to some other alternative technology or will pay Microsoft to license the technology or will do both.
