According to sources close to the automaker and the Reuters reports as well as series of events indicate that the company\u2019s chief operating officer, Mark Fields, couls assume the big role.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Events indicative of the Buzz<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A strong hint for the anticipated change is the absence of Ford\u2019s Alan Mulally from the Weekly meetings of the automaker\u2019stop executives. Few people close to the matter also affirmed the feeble chances of Mulally to remain CEO through 2014. While Mulally is seen as a strong contender among the Microsoft\u2019s list of candidates, his position at Ford is likely to be passed to the Fields,52.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>How \u2018Ford\u2019 looks without Mulally<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Analysts have questions about the future road map for the No.2 U.S. automaker after Mulally exit. The future of the company without Mulally, the person behind the automaker\u2019s profitable run and who is considered as savior during the 2009 bailout, looks challenging. Some of the concerns linger around are the company\u2019s quality issues in North America, its struggling brand, Lincoln, and its position againstrivals in Asia. This all comes down to the fact that how fair Ford will be under the new leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>After the transition<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The transition would be a milestone for the company, which has witnessed not too many handovers in its history of 110 years.
