Boston, MA 12\/16\/2013 (wallstreetpr) –\u00a0General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) has announced that its venture in Latin America will continue. The company\u2019s proposed Acu Superport located off Rio, is expected to be started in the near future.<\/p>\n
While there was speculation about the project, after the sale of stake by Eike Batista, in holding company LLX Logistics, the people behind the building the port, it appears that the geo-location of the place has definitely been important for GE.<\/p>\n
It is believed that many of\u00a0General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) oil reserves are located at close proximity, allowing the company better and cheaper access to its reserves.<\/p>\n
This will also help the company to manufacture products which are more in line with what the industries require, with minimal harm to the environment. Additionally, it is proposed the production would include equipment which is to be sued by industries such as oil and gas as well as the marine industries.<\/p>\n
In other industries, in which General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) operates such as engines for Boeings and other aircraft, there has been set backs in late November. It was reported that BA aircraft running on GE engines were believed to be developing engine ice. GE was quick to move and arrest the problem with software solution. However this will be completed only by March 2014.<\/p>\n
General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) says the software fix for 787 and 747-S that it will fly for Boeing will receive he updates as and when they are completed. It was found that whenever these flights were passing through thunderstorms, and at high altitudes, there was a loss of thrust. This problem was reported as early as April this year and led to four aircraft of Japanese Airways being grounded.
