As Pam Bondi<\/a> steps away as U.S. Attorney General, her impact on the national movement to “Save Women’s Sports” has been commended by figures involved in the fight.<\/p>\n

During Bondi’s tenure, she initiated DOJ lawsuits against education<\/a> state agencies in Maine, California and Minnesota for policies that allowed biological male transgender athletes to compete in girls’ high school sports.<\/p>\n

Former NCAA women’s soccer player Sophia Lorey, now a prominent Southern California-based conservative activist and influencer, told Fox News Digital her reaction to recent news of Bondi’s departure as AG.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m grateful for Attorney General Bondi\u2019s leadership in standing up for girls\u2019 sports and defending fairness for female athletes. Her efforts reflected an administration that has made protecting women and girls a clear priority. From Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon, I\u2019ve seen a consistent and coordinated commitment to this issue at the highest levels,” Lorey said.<\/p>\n

“Regardless of personnel changes, I remain encouraged that protecting the integrity of women\u2019s sports continues to be a signature focus of President Trump\u2019s administration, and I hope to see that commitment carried forward with strength and clarity.”<\/p>\n

Lorey was a leading figure in the effort to bring national attention to local controversies involving transgender athletes in Riverside County, California at Martin Luther King High School and Jurupa Valley High School, with each incident resulting in lawsuits. Bondi then launched a Title IX lawsuit against California<\/a> last July for its refusal to amend its policies.<\/p>\n

The Independent Women’s Forum, a policy group that represents prominent women’s sports activists Payton McNabb and Selina Soule, addressed Bondi’s departure in a statement to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

“Pam Bondi\u2019s tenure at the Department of Justice has been extremely consequential and effective. During her time in office, the Department advanced key priorities on public safety and enforcement, and crime reductions reflect a renewed focus on the rule of law. Attorney General Bondi also played a visible role in one of the most pressing legal issues of our time: whether longstanding sex-based protections for women and girls will be upheld,” the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“Her leadership in supporting efforts to preserve fairness in women\u2019s sports, and that recognize\u00a0 biological reality in law, has been applauded by Independent Women. She has been a trusted and valuable partner to the administration, and her longstanding working relationship with the President is clear. Her experience and leadership will undoubtedly continue to have an impact, whether in public service or the private sector.”<\/p>\n
