{"id":125996,"date":"2026-03-30T12:10:32","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T16:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/happier-and-healthier-people-do-these-7-things-every-day-says-wellness-expert-125996"},"modified":"2026-03-30T12:10:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T16:10:32","slug":"happier-and-healthier-people-do-these-7-things-every-day-says-wellness-expert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/happier-and-healthier-people-do-these-7-things-every-day-says-wellness-expert-125996","title":{"rendered":"Happier and healthier people do these 7 things every day, says wellness expert"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The goal for most people is to live a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/healthy-living\/longevity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">long and happy life<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are several habits that happy and healthy people observe as they age, according to behavioral scientist and happiness expert Arthur Brooks, professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent appearance on Dr. Rhonda Patrick\u2019s FoundMyFitness podcast, Brooks referenced data from the Harvard Study of Adult Development \u2013 an 85-year longitudinal study of adult life \u2013 which identified seven typical habits of people who are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/healthy-living\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">happier and healthier<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/happiness-expert-shares-6-step-morning-routine-boosts-mood-productivity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>HAPPINESS EXPERT SHARES 6-STEP MORNING ROUTINE THAT BOOSTS MOOD AND PRODUCTIVITY<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the first four habits are &#8220;obvious,&#8221; Brooks said, the other four are often overlooked.<\/p>\n<p>Research shows that a nutritious, balanced diet supports both physical health and mental well-being over time.<\/p>\n<p>For exercise, Brooks noted that doing too much can backfire. Those who are &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/nutrition-and-fitness\/fitness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exercise maniacs<\/a>&#8221; could run the risk of doing &#8220;mechanical ill&#8221; to the body, he warned.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/creative-hobbies-keep-brain-young-study-finds-here-best-ones-pursue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CREATIVE HOBBIES KEEP THE BRAIN YOUNG, STUDY FINDS \u2014 HERE ARE THE BEST ONES TO PURSUE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They\u2019re very moderate on substances, none of them were addicts,&#8221; Brooks said. &#8220;Or if they had trouble with it, they quit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE FOR MORE HEALTH STORIES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/respiratory-health\/stop-smoking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lifelong smokers<\/a> have a seven in 10 chance of dying of a smoking-related illness \u2013 and that\u2019s an unhappy way to go.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And actually, you\u2019re probably not happy and there\u2019s a lot of compensation that\u2019s going on,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;That\u2019s how a lot of former alcoholics re-sample: They become addicted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>People who are lifelong learners tend to be healthier and happier, according to the expert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That\u2019s usually a lot of reading, but it\u2019s just curiosity is how that comes about, which is really, really important,&#8221; he said on the podcast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/newsletters?cmpid=fnfirstnl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brooks described this concept as &#8220;your technique for dealing with life\u2019s problems.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You\u2019ve got to get good at it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You need skill at dealing with life\u2019s problems.
