An illegal immigrant<\/a> is facing a slew of charges after he reportedly confessed to two separate murders in North Carolina<\/a> that occurred months apart.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Angelvis Jesus Quintero Fernandez, 22, was taken into custody in Charlotte on Monday following an unrelated traffic stop, according to<\/u><\/a> WBTV.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After speaking with investigators, Fernandez was reportedly charged with first-degree murder stemming from the alleged shooting of Ludvin Antonio Guzman Morales, 44, earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities allege Morales was watching a fight on Central Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 24, when he tried to kick one of the suspects as the altercation moved further down the roadway, WBTV reported.<\/p>\n

Morales and the suspect began circling the area as they both tried to kick each other, but not actually start a fight, police reportedly wrote in an affidavit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fernandez allegedly approached Morales from behind and shot him multiple times<\/a> as he fell to the ground, WBTV reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The suspect and Fernandez then reportedly got into their vehicle and subsequently pulled up next to Morales to shoot him again before driving off.<\/p>\n

Morales\u2019 lifeless body was found lying in the road around 3:30 a.m., WBTV reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities did not initially name a suspect in the days following the shooting.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, authorities were called to El Paisano Restaurant\u00e9 in east Charlotte shortly after 2 a.m. regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department<\/a> said in a statement<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Upon arriving, deputies found Luis Daniel Gutierrez Mora, 31, with life-threatening injuries<\/a> from an apparent gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Following his arrest stemming from an unrelated traffic stop on Wednesday, Fernandez confessed to both killings, WSOC reported.<\/p>\n

He was subsequently booked into the Mecklenburg County jail on two counts of murder, along with other charges, and denied bond, according to booking records.<\/p>\n

Following news of his arrest, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)<\/a> lodged a detainer against Fernandez “to prevent him from reentering the community,” the agency said in an X post<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and ICE did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
