A Dallas-based American Airlines flight attendant vanished during a weekend layover in Medell\u00edn, Colombia<\/a>, prompting an urgent investigation by local authorities.<\/p>\n

U.S. citizen Eric Fernando Gutierrez Molina, 32, was last seen early Sunday in Medell\u00edn\u2019s La Am\u00e9rica neighborhood after arriving for an overnight layover en route to Miami, FOX 4 Dallas<\/a> and the New York Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

One of Gutierrez Molina’s friends, Sharom Gil, told<\/a> local outlet Telemedell\u00edn that Molina may have been invited to a party, and was later taken to a medical center.<\/p>\n

Gutierrez Molina reportedly shared his location at an Airbnb near Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda C\u00f3rdova International Airport<\/a> shortly before he went missing, prompting friends and coworkers to file missing person<\/a> reports with local authorities.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Murcia, an elected representative for Colombians abroad, posted a heartbreaking call for help on social media following Gutierrez Molina’s disappearance.<\/p>\n

“Eric Fernando Guti\u00e9rrez Molina, a U.S. citizen and flight attendant for @AmericanAir, is missing in Medell\u00edn,” Murcia wrote in an X post. “Let\u2019s help spread this post to find him. His family is desperate.”<\/p>\n

Murcia also tagged the official X account of the U.S. Embassy in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia, which has not yet commented on the disappearance.<\/p>\n

It is unclear if foul play was involved.<\/p>\n

American Airlines told Fox News Digital it is “actively engaged with local law enforcement officials in their investigation and doing all we can to support our team member’s family during this time.”<\/p>\n

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants confirmed to FOX 4 it i<\/strong>s also working with local authorities<\/a> and supporting the family.<\/p>\n
