In order to save the plant, a union which is representing workers at the General Electric Company plant located in Ford Edward is going to provide a package which would be proposing a cut up to 20 of the plant\u2019s 177 unionized jobs in order to keep the plant open.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This proposal has been approved by the members of Local 332 of the United Electrical, Machine and Radio Workers of America late on Monday night, as per the statement provided by UE North Eastern Regional President Peter Knowlton. According to him, the plan would be formally offered to the management of General Electric Company on Tuesday. The union leaders of the company have to face a negotiating deadline with the General Electric Company which was opened in the year 1940.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The UE North Eastern Regional President Peter Knowlton also said that the union negotiators have managed to work up the proposal which calls for cutting down of the labor costs at the plant through an investment of new technology and equipment for $25 million. This would help in allowing jobs to be cut with the help of using early retirement. Some other proposals to cut costs include maintenance of the mechanic apprentice program. This would help in saving the General Electric Company plant located in Fort Edward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to accept the package, change it or even reject it, the members would be allowed to give votes according to their aspirations.
