A Russian ballistic missile strike on a residential building in Kharkiv, Ukraine<\/a>, killed at least 10 people, including two children, and wounded 16 others Saturday, officials said.<\/p>\n

The strike was part of a broader overnight assault in which Russia launched 29 missiles and 480 drones targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure, with damage reported in Kyiv and at seven other locations across the country, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy called for an international response following the attack.<\/p>\n

“There must be a response from partners to these savage strikes against life. I thank everyone who will not remain silent. Russia has not abandoned its attempts to destroy Ukraine\u2019s residential and critical infrastructure, and therefore support must continue,” he said in a post on X.<\/p>\n

“We count on active work with the European Union to guarantee greater protection for our people,” he added. “I am grateful to everyone who helps strengthen our protection.”<\/p>\n

Preliminary Ukrainian data showed air defense systems<\/a> downed 19 missiles and 453 drones, while nine missiles and 26 strike drones hit 22 locations.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Defense Ministry said the strikes targeted Ukrainian military factories, energy facilities<\/a> and air bases.<\/p>\n

TRUMP SAYS ‘HATRED’ BETWEEN PUTIN, ZELENSKYY BLOCKING UKRAINE PEACE DEAL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking Saturday at the Shield of the Americas Summit in Doral, Florida, President Donald Trump<\/a> said the “hatred” between Russia and Ukraine was complicating efforts to reach a peace deal.<\/p>\n

“It’s\u00a0so great that, you know, Ukraine, Russia,\u00a0you’d\u00a0think\u00a0there would\u00a0be a little bit of camaraderie,\u00a0[but] there\u2019s\u00a0not. And\u00a0the hatred\u00a0is so great.\u00a0It’s\u00a0very hard\u00a0for them to get there.\u00a0It’s\u00a0very, very hard\u00a0to get there.\u00a0So\u00a0we’ll\u00a0see what happens,” Trump said. “But\u00a0we’ve\u00a0been close a lot of times\u00a0and one or the other would back out.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But\u00a0we’re\u00a0losing, you\u00a0know,\u00a0they’re\u00a0losing, you know,\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0really affect us very much because\u00a0we’ve\u00a0got an ocean separating.\u00a0I’m doing it as a favor to Europe, and I’m doing it as a favor to life because they’re losing 25,000 souls<\/a>,” Trump added. “Think of that every month. 25,000. Last month, 31,000.\u00a0 Both sides, 31,000 people died, mostly soldiers.”<\/p>\n

Last month, Zelenskyy told Fox News that Russia is trying “to play<\/a> with the president of the United States” and stalling U.S.-brokered efforts to end the war.<\/p>\n
