Exiled Iranian crown prince<\/a> Reza Pahlavi unveiled Friday a 6-step plan to exert pressure on the regime, which he declared “will fall,\u00a0not if, but when.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“My brave compatriots\u00a0still\u00a0holding the line with their broken\u00a0bodies\u00a0but unbreakable will,\u00a0need\u00a0your urgent help right now. Make no mistake, however, the Islamic Republic is close to collapse,” Pahlavi declared. \u00a0<\/p>\n

“Ali Khamenei<\/a> and his thugs know this.\u00a0That’s\u00a0why they are lashing out like a wounded animal,\u00a0desperate to cling to power,” he continued. “The people have not retreated. Their determination has made one thing clear. They are not merely rejecting this regime. They are demanding a credible new path forward. They\u00a0have called\u00a0for me to lead.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pahlavi said he has a comprehensive plan for an orderly transition and asked the international community to do six things, starting with protecting the Iranian people “by degrading the regime’s repressive capacity, including targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard leadership and its\u00a0command-and-control\u00a0infrastructure.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Second, deliver and sustain maximum economic pressure on the regime, block their assets worldwide, target and dismantle their fleet of ghost [oil] tankers,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Third, break through the regime’s information blockade by enabling unrestricted internet access. Deploy Starlink and other secure communications tools widely across\u00a0Iran and\u00a0conduct cyber operations to disable the regime’s ability to shut down the internet. Fourth, hold the regime accountable by expelling\u00a0its diplomats from your capitals and\u00a0pursue\u00a0legal enforcement actions against those responsible for crimes against humanity,” Pahlavi continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Fifth, demand the immediate release of all political prisoners<\/a>. Six,\u00a0prepare for a democratic transition in Iran by committing to recognize a legitimate transitional government\u00a0when the moment comes,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

Pahlavi\u2019s\u00a0remarks came as President Donald Trump\u00a0seemed to remain\u00a0ambivalent <\/a>about the possibility of\u00a0Pahlavi taking over the country if the Islamic regime were to fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He seems very nice, but I don’t know how he’d play within his own country,” Trump told Reuters during an interview on Wednesday. “And we really aren’t up to that point yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I don’t know whether or not his country would accept his leadership, and certainly if they would, that would be fine with me,” he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Pahlavi was asked Friday by a reporter about how he plans to win Trump over, he said, “President Trump has said that\u00a0it’s\u00a0up to the Iranian people to decide, and I totally agree.”<\/p>\n

“I’ve\u00a0always said\u00a0it’s\u00a0for the Iranian people to decide. And I think the Iranian people have already\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0in\u00a0great numbers\u00a0who it is that they want them to lead to this transition,” he added. “So\u00a0I’m\u00a0confident that I have the support of my compatriot.\u00a0And as for the international leaders to assess the fact on the ground and see who\u00a0is capable of doing\u00a0that.\u00a0I believe I can and I have\u00a0the Iranian people\u2019s support.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
