The wind turbines will be run by Ponte Albanito S.r.l., a company, whose 70 percent owners are Renexia S.p.A. (a Toto Holding company) and the remaining is owned by Banco Santander . This will be the first time that GEs wind will be used in Italy.<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is the first time that Renexia and Toto Costruzioni have entered the wind industry they have chosen GE technology for their first wind. They won the project under a new Italian wind auction and the project will generate 22.8 MW of power, which will meet the energy requirements of almost 15,000 homes in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Michele Scoppio, chief operating officer, Renexia, \u201cfor our first move into the wind energy sector we wanted to work with a company that would ensure our success. The turbines are the best for the region and also the most cost efficient.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cliff Harris, general manager for GE&#8217;s European renewable energy business, \u201cThe accord with the Italian company marks the start of the 2.85 wind turbine in Italy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The wind farm will be helped by the monitoring of the turbines on a continuous basis via the global wind monitoring center in Salzbergen of GE which keeps an eye on wind Turbines 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Italy as a member of the\u00a0 European Union (EU), will need to meet the latter\u2019s target of 20\/20 target, which means that it will have to produce 20 per cent renewable energy by the year 2020.
