A mother who skipped plans for after-work drinks<\/a> ended up with far more than a quiet night in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She became an instant millionaire just ahead of the New Year of 2026.<\/p>\n

Nikita Muse, 35, was named the latest winner of Omaze\u2019s Monthly Millionaire Draw, taking home a \u00a31 million, tax-free prize in the U.K. after entering the competition for several years.<\/p>\n

Her windfall is equivalent to about $1.34 million in U.S. dollars.<\/p>\n

Omaze is a prize-draw platform<\/a> that offers participants the chance to win large cash prizes and luxury homes.<\/p>\n

Muse, a finance manager at a golf course, was finishing up at work when she received a call telling her she had won something.<\/a><\/p>\n

She initially doubted the news, she told news agency SWNS.<\/p>\n

She and her husband assumed the call wasn\u2019t for real \u2014 until representatives arrived at their home to confirm it in person.<\/p>\n

She had been on her way out to meet a friend for after-work drinks but quickly changed plans.<\/p>\n

Muse joked that canceling was worth it \u2014 telling her friend<\/a> that “the drinks are on me” the next time they meet.<\/p>\n

The reality of the win soon began to sink in.<\/p>\n

“This is going to be an incredible New Year\u2019s Eve<\/a> for us,” she said, as SNWS reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“What a way to see out the year and head into the next one knowing our children\u2019s futures<\/a> are so secure.”<\/p>\n

She also said, “I\u2019m not a huge drinker \u2014 but we did open a bottle of champagne to celebrate at home.”<\/p>\n

Muse and her husband share four children between them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said the win immediately eased financial pressure and opened up new possibilities for the family.<\/p>\n

The couple plans to pay down their mortgage, replace an older vehicle and take family trips<\/a> \u2014 including returning to New York and visiting Disney World.<\/p>\n

Muse said she had been entering Omaze drawings for nearly five years.<\/p>\n

She was motivated, she said, by both the chance to improve her family\u2019s future and the charitable causes the organization supports.<\/p>\n

“It was such a crazy moment,” she said about learning she had won the lottery. “You never think it\u2019s actually going to happen, but the money is in my account now \u2014 I\u2019ll never forget seeing all those zeros appear!”<\/p>\n

She also said, “We\u2019ll be able to treat the kids \u2013 I mean, if you can\u2019t treat them after winning a million, when can you?”<\/p>\n
