NTSB board member Michael Graham confirmed that the exact cause of the crash remains unknown.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We do not know the circumstances which led the aircraft\u2026 to attempt to return to the airport, but that is the focus of our investigation,&#8221; he began.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Graham was asked at Friday\u2019s initial press conference about a reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/greg-biffles-wife-sent-worrying-text-message-moments-before-plane-crashed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">text sent from Biffle\u2019s wife<\/a>, Cristina Grossu Biffle, to her mother in which she texted, &#8220;We\u2019re in trouble.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Graham said he was unaware of the message but on Saturday, he confirmed that one unnamed passenger did send a distressing message.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This morning, I can confirm that the NTSB is aware of one brief text from a passenger aboard the aircraft to a family member that read, \u2018Emergency landing.\u2019&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Graham added, &#8220;We are not aware of any other communications from passengers onboard the aircraft to those on the ground.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><i>This is a developing story.
