Filmmaker James Cameron blasted President Donald Trump<\/a> as the “most narcissistic a—— in history since f—— Nero” in an interview discussing his latest film<\/a> and the future of humanity.<\/p>\n

Cameron, best known for directing “Titanic” and “Avatar,” voiced frustration with the Trump administration\u2019s decision to roll back environmental protections. He argued the White House is helping to send the human race “backwards.”<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m not frustrated that \u2018Avatar\u2019 isn\u2019t solving it,” Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> while discussing his concerns about climate change.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m frustrated because the human race seems to be delusional about what they think is going to happen next. We are going backwards,” Cameron said.<\/p>\n

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cameron described Trump as the “most narcissistic a—— in history since f—— Nero.” He added, “Yeah, you can quote that”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment.<\/p>\n

Cameron warned that he sees environmental decline, artificial intelligence<\/a> and shifting moviegoing habits as emerging threats to humanity and Hollywood.<\/p>\n

“Who\u2019s to say we wouldn\u2019t be going backwards even faster if it wasn\u2019t for these films? There isn\u2019t an alternative Earth without \u2018Avatar\u2019 we can point to and say, \u2018It made this measurable difference,\u2019” Cameron said, adding that he believes his films are on the “right side of history.”<\/p>\n

Cameron has been a frequent critic of Trump, telling New Zealand outlet Stuff<\/a> that he found the president\u2019s re-election “horrifying” in January.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m worried there\u2019s going to be a generation that thinks they could<\/a> make a movie without an actor,” Cameron cautioned.<\/p>\n

His latest film, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” is the third installment in the franchise and centers on humanity\u2019s clash with the Na\u2019vi, a species deeply interconnected with their environment.<\/p>\n

“Do I want it to be a wild success \u2014 which almost compels me to continue and make two more \u2018Avatar\u2019 movies? Or do I want it to fail just enough that I can justify doing something else?”<\/p>\n

The original “Avatar” remains one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Cameron acknowledged that changing moviegoing habits could threaten the success of the latest installment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
