The K-12 charter network also ranked number two in English Language Arts with a 92% pass rate \u2014 trailing only a point behind <a href=\"https:\/\/data.nysed.gov\/essa.php?instid=800000034921&amp;year=2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Scarsdale Union Free School District<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Eva Moskowitz, founder and CEO of Success Academy, told Fox News Digital that although it is part of a network of charter schools, they consider themselves a &#8220;school district&#8221; because they serve more than 22,000 students and provide district-level services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We looked at the results of all of our schools, and we said, \u2018Okay, there are a bunch of other districts. How are we doing in comparison to those districts?\u2019&#8221; Moskowitz said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/business-booming-recruitment-firm-enrollment-school-districts-plummet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BUSINESS BOOMS FOR FIRM THAT RECRUITS STUDENTS AS ENROLLMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS TANK NATIONWIDE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The New York State Education Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysed.gov\/news\/2025\/new-york-state-education-department-releases-2024-25-state-assessment-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">released test scores<\/a> of students in grades 3\u20138 at K-12 school districts and charter schools statewide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Success Academy\u2019s achievement comes amid a nationwide decline in math and reading proficiency. According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationsreportcard.gov\/reports\/mathematics\/2024\/g4_8\/?grade=4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><u>National Assessment of Education Progress<\/u><\/a> exam, 39% of fourth-grade students performed at or above in 2024. The report also showed 28% of 8th graders were proficient or above in math.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2006, Success Academy is the fourth-largest school district in the Empire State. The charter school network serves over 22,000 predominantly low-income Black and Hispanic students. It celebrated its academic success over the state&#8217;s wealthiest school districts, including Scarsdale Union Free School District \u2014 which reports no economically disadvantaged students, where about 10% of students are Black and Hispanic.<\/p>\n<p>Moskowitz said in a press release, &#8220;It&#8217;s time we stop accepting excuses, exacerbating inequity, and denying parents access to quality education.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/trump-admin-makes-historic-investment-charter-schools-amid-nationwide-decline-public-school-enrollment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>TRUMP ADMIN TO MAKE HISTORIC INVESTMENT IN CHARTER SCHOOLS AMID NATIONWIDE DECLINE IN PUBLIC SCHOOL ENROLLMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Success Academy set out to reverse the achievement gap, and we are doing it \u2014 consistently, holistically, and at scale.\u00a0 But excellence shouldn&#8217;t be the exception; it should be the expectation,&#8221; Moskowitz said.<\/p>\n<p>The New York State Education Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital&#8217;s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Moskowitz\u2019s comments follow her previous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/success-academy-ceo-speaks-out-against-uft-for-being-silent-about-randi-weingartens-charter-school-expansion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview with Fox News Digital<\/a> two years ago, when she said her charter schools were in an ongoing battle with teachers unions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/americas-failing-public-schools-pushing-parents-find-better-options\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>NATION&#8217;S REPORT CARD GIVES PUBLIC SCHOOLS A FAILING GRADE. PARENTS ARE DEMANDING BETTER<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Success Academy faced challenges in expanding its institution as they applied for co-locations due to opposition from the United Federation of Teachers (UFT).
