“CBS Mornings<\/a>” co-host Gayle King acknowledged there was “drama” at the network Wednesday and said she was staying out of it.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve decided I\u2019m going to stay out of the drama \u2014 and there is some drama,” she told talk show host Sherri Shepherd during an interview. “I’m going to stay out of that, I’m just going to continue doing my job.”<\/p>\n

Shepherd asked King to address reports that circulated<\/a> in October about her leaving the morning program \u2014 which King had previously discussed at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“What I say is this, I\u2019m not going to negotiate in the press, but I hear one thing in the building and one side outside of the building. I\u2019ll be reading an article and going, \u2018That\u2019s not true,'” she told Shepherd.<\/p>\n

GAYLE KING SPEAKS OUT AMID REPORTS SHE’S EXITING \u2018CBS MORNINGS\u2019<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

King said she loves her job and has been told the network likes her work.<\/p>\n

She also addressed her fellow “CBS Mornings” co-host Tony Dokoupil being tapped<\/a> to host “CBS Evening News,” which the network announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Dokoupil will no longer co-host the morning show alongside King and Nate Burleson.<\/p>\n

“Tony\u2019s promotion is certainly going to mean changes at \u2018CBS Mornings\u2019 \u2014 there’s no question about that. So we shall see,” King said.<\/p>\n

King told Shepherd she was very happy for Dukoupil. Shepherd also asked King if there was anything different she would want to do.<\/p>\n

“I don’t go in hypotheticals,” King said. “I don’t think like that.”<\/p>\n

PARAMOUNT TO SLASH ABOUT 1,000 JOBS IN BRUTAL ROUND OF LAYOFFS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

John Dickerson, current co-host<\/a> of “CBS Evening News,” will exit the network at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

CBS News has had a tumultuous year, beginning with a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump over election interference allegations \u2014 which was ultimately settled by its parent company Paramount. The network also has a new owner following Paramount’s $8 billion merger<\/u><\/a> with Skydance Media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

David Ellison, Paramount’s new CEO, tapped journalist Bari Weiss<\/a> to become editor-in-chief of CBS News as part of his $150 million acquisition of her outlet, The Free Press, in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n
