That doesn&#8217;t mean &#8220;indulging without intention,&#8221; she told Fox News Digital \u2014 but &#8220;it means choosing foods that make you feel good both physically and emotionally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Simon Feldhaus, a Swiss longevity specialist with 30 years of experience, recently told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/25\/the-foods-and-daily-habits-this-doctor-prioritizes-to-live-well.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Make It&#8221;<\/a> that he doesn&#8217;t believe in a single &#8220;healthy diet,&#8221; but rather in eating foods that genuinely make people feel good.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\/this-common-food-boost-heart-health-without-changing-your-lifestyle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>COMMON FOOD MAY BOOST HEART HEALTH WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR LIFESTYLE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For me, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/nutrition-and-fitness\/nutrition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nutrition, food and eating,<\/a> it&#8217;s not a chemical, scientific-based thing, but emotional,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a little bit about science, but it also must be pleasurable for me to eat the fruit. Surely, there are some days where I don&#8217;t follow these rules, but most of the days I do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Below are the foods that experts say can spark joy and support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/wellness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">long-term wellness.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Feldhaus centers his meals around quality proteins and fats. While he skips milk, he embraces yogurt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The most important thing is the quality of the food, not really what the food is,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\/man-ate-1000-sardines-month-lost-6-pounds-smelled-like-fish-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MAN ATE 1,000 SARDINES IN A MONTH, LOST 6 POUNDS AND &#8216;SMELLED LIKE A FISH MARKET&#8217;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Amie Hornaman, a functional medicine doctor in Pennsylvania, agreed that ingredient quality is &#8220;everything.&#8221; &#8220;Your cells are literally built from the food you eat,&#8221; she told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Springer recommends paying attention to foods that are minimally processed and to read nutrition labels carefully.<\/p>\n<p>Feldhaus doesn&#8217;t obsess over which protein is best. What matters most, he said, is the source. For him, that means Swiss beef and locally raised meats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This kind of quality is what I try to get for every food I eat,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Springer added, &#8220;High-quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cheeses or meats<\/a> often contain fewer additives and provide higher nutrient density per serving, which may help with portion control while also providing better fuel for our bodies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If it doesn&#8217;t grow in Switzerland at that time of year, Feldhaus said he leaves it off his plate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\/my-whole-life-lie-former-vegan-chef-sinks-teeth-cattle-ranching\"><strong><u>&#8216;MY WHOLE LIFE WAS A LIE&#8217;: FORMER VEGAN CHEF SINKS HER TEETH INTO CATTLE RANCHING<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Springer noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/food-drink\/food\/healthy-foods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seasonal produce<\/a> is typically richer in nutrients because it&#8217;s harvested at peak ripeness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It also tastes better when in season, which may encourage people to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/healthiest-vegetable-all-according-cdc-nutrient-powerhouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eat more vegetables,&#8221;<\/a> she said. &#8220;Eating seasonally provides greater variety as seasons change, offering a wider range of vitamins and minerals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Eating with the seasons helps keep your body&#8217;s natural rhythm on track, Hornaman added, and that rhythm plays a major role in metabolism and healthy aging.<\/p>\n<p>Feldhaus doesn&#8217;t ban carbohydrates.
