Boston, MA 10\/24\/2013 (wallstreetpr) – The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO), <\/b>a beverage company that markets, owns, and licenses more than 500 non-alcoholic beverage brands, is expected to call a meeting of the bosses of the company sometime this week as the company needs to decide whether it will support the anti-gay laws that are prevalent in Russia or speak against them. The company is under the pressure of the supporters of GLBTI right,\u00a0which is forcing it to take a stand and speak against the unjust laws.<\/p>\n
The company is being forced to stand against such laws as Coke is one of the major sponsors of the Olympics. A rights advocacy site, All Out, states that Coca-Cola may say that their sponsorship in Olympics is not sharing any link with the anti-gay laws in Russia. Is spite of this, they have given their opinion that if a lot of people email them to take a stand, the company, Coca-Cola would be eventually pressurized to take some action.<\/p>\n
Another advocacy organization, Sum Of Us, has also joined this campaign and are requesting Coke to speak against the laws that are unfair. As far as the LGBT crackdown is concerned, Coke has not said anything and has not put forward any comment. However, the advocacy sites believe that if a lot of people come forward and request big companies\u00a0such as Coca-Cola to speak for the right thing, it is likely to have a defining impact.<\/p>\n
The organizations hope that if big companies like Coca-Cola stand against Russia, the country will get the right answer and these efforts can push Russia to eventually change the laws that are against the right of gay people.\u00a0The executives of the company have decided to meet this week, and they can make a decision to force Russia to ban the laws that are currently prevalent.
