The magazine Glamour UK released its 2025 Women of the Year issue on Wednesday, featuring nine transgender women on the cover. Author\u00a0J.K. Rowling<\/u><\/a> said the decision tells “girls that men are better women than they are.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I grew up in an era when mainstream women\u2019s magazines told girls they needed to be thinner and prettier,” the British author wrote on X.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Now mainstream women\u2019s magazines tell girls that men are better women than they are,” the post continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cover,<\/u><\/a> released Oct. 29, featured nine people on it \u2014 all of whom are transgender women.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Munroe Bergdorf, Maxine Heron, Taira, Munya, Bel Priestley, Dani St. James, Ceval Omar, Mya Mehmi and Shon Faye are the names featured on the cover.<\/p>\n

With professions ranging from models, activists, writers, actors and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Rowling has addressed this issue.<\/p>\n

A longtime advocate for keeping female spaces exclusive to those born as women, the mother of four has stood up for her views on\u00a0women’s rights<\/a> various times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zuby, a rapper and influencer, commented on Rowling’s post, saying, “The\u00a0‘trans movement’<\/u><\/a> is easily the most misogynistic movement in modern history. Especially because of its scale and mainstream acceptance.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Another user<\/u><\/a> on X called the magazine\u2019s move “utterly demeaning” and “insulting to women,” commenting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The comment went on to read: “To have a \u2018women’s magazine\u2019 like\u00a0<\/a>[Glamour UK] select men as the \u2018women of the year\u2019… women are not a costume\u2026 Glamour can F right off.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
