The management of Vodafone expects to obtain great benefits from bundling with cable TV, fixed calls, and broadband, its wireless services. In the mean time, T-Mobile\u00a0of Deutsche Telekom is offering handset subsidies aggressively and Telefonica Deutschland is seeking an acquisition of its own company to strengthen its market position. Germany is\u00a0the largest single market of Vodafone, and it is facing intensifying competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The acquisition of Kabel Deutschland became the subject of a bidding war between Liberty Global, a rival US Company, the firm that bought Virgin Media in the United Kingdom, and Vodafone. However, Vodafone sustained and its division (German) holds 76.57% of share capital of Kabel Deutschland now. The buying of Kabel has brought the mobile customer base\u00a0of the company up to 32.4 million. Vodafone confirmed in September that it had sold its stake in Verizon Wireless (US firm) for $130 billion so that it can focus on European operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It has also been heard that the company will return much of the proceeds of that sale in the form of dividends to the shareholders. Also, the company has earmarked around $30 billion in cash so as to make deals and reduce debt. Vodafone also intends to invest around $10 billion in its fourth generation mobile network\u00a0over the next three years and also in the laying of new fibre optic cables so that it can provide better broadband Internet coverage to its customers in Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The takeover of the largest cable operator of Germany will allow Vodafone to offer high speed internet without having to pay rival Deutsche Telekom for using its infrastructure.
