Harvard University announced the hiring of a new visiting gender and sexuality professor who also happens to be a\u00a0drag queen<\/u><\/a> and goes by the name of “LaWhore Vagistan.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a recent\u00a0press release<\/u><\/a>, Harvard said they have brought on Tufts Professor Kareem Khubchandani as the 2025-26 F.O. Matthiessen Visiting Associate Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies.<\/p>\n

Khubchandani appears to have an Instagram handle with the name of @lawhorevagistan, as well as a Linktree<\/a> with the same name.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A March 2024 article from The Georgetown Independent<\/a> noted Khubchandani\u2019s performance on campus: “On February 8, LaWhore Vagistan, the drag alter-ego of professor and researcher Dr. Kareem Khubchandani, graced Georgetown with her presence,” wrote student journalist Micaeli Dym.<\/p>\n

“Claiming to put the \u2018whore\u2019 back in Lahore\u2019 \u2014 the capital of Pakistan \u2014 LaWhore was invited to the Hilltop as a part of Georgetown\u2019s South Asia Speaker Series for a performance lecture entitled \u2018Lessons in Drag,\u2019” Dym reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harvard\u2019s press release said Khubchandani, who is the author of\u00a0“Decolonize Drag<\/u><\/a>” and\u00a0“Ishtyle: Accenting Gay Indian Nightlife<\/u><\/a>,” will be teaching two courses entitled\u00a0Queer Ethnography<\/u><\/a>, during the fall semester and\u00a0RuPaulitics: Drag, Race, and Desire<\/u><\/a>, to be held during the spring semester.<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital<\/u><\/a> reached out to Harvard University, Harvard\u2019s Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, and Khubchandani for comment.<\/p>\n
