Following the recently released quarterly earnings, ORCL has over taken IBM which has now dropped to the third place. The company announced this development in a news release to media outlets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ORCL is majorly in the business of computer hardware and enterprise software product and service provision. It develops, manufactures, markers and supports these technologies for its institution and individual clients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So what is it that has caused ORCL to climb up the ranking against IBM? It all has to so with the performance of the two companies in the just released quarterly results. The figures indicate that ORCL\u2019s software business segment has gown in leaps and bounds against IBM\u2019s software business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the past four quarters, ORCL reported total software revenue of $27.8 billion while for the same duration, IBM\u2019s software revenue totaled at $25.7 billion. For this nearly $2.1 billion revenue difference, IBM has slipped under ORCL at position three while ORCL has climbed to the plump stop as the Second Largest Software Company in the World.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the tech company hasn\u2019t had good enough rally power for its shares in the exchange market, dropping 0.45% as of previous session\u2019s trading to close sound $32.87, the company is showing encouraging performance generally. Basically its strengths by far outweigh any weaknesses it might have to chew over.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company has just had a positive review from Sanford C. Bernstein in an investor research note in which it has had its price objective upped by the rating agency. Sanford C. Bernstein now has assigned price target of $35 per share up from $33. Several other equities research analysts have had similar positive comments on the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus on average, analysts expect the newly crowned Second Largest Software Company on the planet to hit $36.44 per share in the year.
