Nelson Serrano-Bahri, chef and director of innovation at the American Egg Board in Chicago, Illinois, recommends topping this French toast with fresh berries, sprinkled confectioners’ sugar and maple syrup for an easy breakfast.<\/a><\/p>\n

1. Prepare a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place bread pieces<\/a> or cubes on the prepared dish in an even layer.<\/p>\n

2. In a medium bowl, add eggs, milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt. Whisk to combine, then pour over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.<\/a><\/p>\n

3. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Remove plastic wrap from the dish and bake for 45\u201360 minutes, until the desired texture.<\/p>\n

4. Top with fresh berries, sprinkled confectioners’ sugar and maple syrup,<\/a> if desired.<\/p>\n

5. Serve and refrigerate leftovers for up to three days.<\/p>\n
