The ruling came out on late Thursday evening and has made sure the Comcast Corp. must issue a new spot to Bloomberg TV in its news neighborhoods. News neighborhoods, is a term that denotes the location of a particular channel along with four plus news channels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As per the new regulations\u00a0Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is supposed to get Bloomberg TV into versions adhering to the standard definition as of the other channels included in the neighborhoods with a time period of 60 days. Comcast has to make sure that this happens at least in the major cities that are being served by them within the specified time period.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bloomberg is owned by Bloomberg L.P. and the ruling that came from the Federal Communications Commission is a symbol of victory for this channel covering all kinds of business news. On the other hand, it came as a depressing decision for Comcast, which also runs a news channel called CNBC. CNBC is one of the toughest competitors for Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ruling clarified the power held by any cable company. A clear example for this is, in Washington, Comcast offers CNBC in its Standard definition at channel number 39 on its network while it has placed Bloomberg on channel number 103. Viewers are less likely to reach that far and according to Bloomberg such far placement on the cable network is acting as one of the biggest obstacles for its growth. When Comcast overtook NBC Universal back in 2011 it was asked by the Govt. to put Bloomberg forward on the channel list to avoid any chances of favouring its own channel over other.
